Birgitte Louise Hansen, architect

More than 15 years of experience in concept development, design and realization of site specific spatial designs from small scale to large scale including production planning, organisation, coordination and budgeting. The design projects have been done for and together with people from many different disciplines such as installation art, performance art, multi media, fashion, cultural organisations, architecture, health care etc. This broad working experience has given an unique insight into the relation between architecture and the world around of social, cultural, political and economical movements and meaning. Underlying the realised projects is an ongoing research on the subject of space: How we understand and perceive space, how it affects us as people (individuals) and as a society (collective), and with what material and immaterial means we can define and work with it across disciplines. The media is not the message but it matters. This viewpoint has lead into ideas about the process of architecture, information architecture and the program of space leading into teaching, giving lectures, arranging workshops, making concept development and organizing events.
